HJS will make London city buses cleaner. With its English partners EEL, the company from South-Westphalia has been awarded the contract for retrofitting in London. <\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>HJS is part of the air purification future project in London<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Award of contract for retrofit of the city buses<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Advantages: Cleaner buses, better air<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">London mayor Sadiq Khan has kept his promise. London provides large promotion funding for a better quality of air and cleaner buses. <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Approximately 90 million Euro is being invested in the retrofitting of city buses with SCRT<\/span><span class=\"s3\"><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/span><span class=\"s2\"> systems.<\/span><span class=\"s1\"> In an extensive invitation to tender procedure, HJS, the South-Westphalian specialist for emission technology, has had success. With this, the company from Menden is included in the four selected providers whose high-efficiency exhaust gas systems were approved by the London Transport Authority.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Extensive framework agreement with transport authority<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">For the delivery and installation of the systems, an extensive and complex framework agreement was negotiated and signed with the holding organisation Transport for London (TfL), which co-ordinates transportation systems in London.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Long-term engagement in England<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">With the nomination, HJS and its long-standing English partner EEL succeed in a breakthrough for a long-term commitment in England. In the next five years approx. 5,800 London buses should be retrofitted and thus brought to the latest Euro-VI emission standard. The British government provides promotion funding for this with approximately 78 million British pounds (converted about 89 million Euro).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Telematics System: Control over emissions<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">All vehicles are additionally equipped with a telematics system with GPS function, in order to enable a check of the emissions of the bus at any time. The device developed by HJS specially for this objective makes possible an online access to the entire control and electronics of the system. In this way, particularly emission values, however also technical data, faults, trip routes and locations, or fuel consumption, can be checked and monitored in detail.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>London as a lighthouse project for whole of Europe<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The most rapid and most cost-effective solution to solving the problem of air quality in cities is the strategy of concentrating on city buses. In this sense, the city of London is a Europe-wide forerunner in the improvement of air quality. The retrofitting in the biggest city in Europe has a very great significance as a model for further cities in Great Britain and Europe. It certainly improves the efforts to have a positive influence on the air quality within a short time through retrofitting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Over 90 percent less harmful nitrogen oxide emissions<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The South-Westphalian specialist for exhaust gas treatment is already setting standards with its SCRT<\/span><span class=\"s2\"><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/span><span class=\"s1\"> system. The modular system developed by HJS, as well as the soot particles from diesel exhaust gases, almost completely removes nitrogen oxide pollutants (NO<\/span><span class=\"s2\"><sub>x<\/sub><\/span><span class=\"s1\">). The harmful nitrogen oxide emissions of diesel engines can be reduced in this way by more than 90 percent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Important milestone for London &#8211; and for HJS<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">HJS is proud to retrofit thousands of city buses with effective technologies and so be in a position to accompany London on the path to a clean, low-pollutant future.
